In spite of the deconstruction of sex-phobic Christianity I am doing through One Bible Verse at a Time, the real barrier toward growing a body & sex-positive faith is not Bible verses used against us or the harmful messages & threats. It is the glue that holds it together: the God metaphor of an ever watchful, non-smiling white male dude sitting on the judgment throne. If that is who you think of or pray to, this is where you begin the deconstruction.
