What is going on with the gendered role of masculinity and how does the pushback against trans people fit in with the sex-negativity of the empire? Since the Empire forces conformity to a gender hierarchy, if we want a pleasure-centered Christian faith how do we live as gendered people and not give in to Empire thinking? We may well ask what do gender roles have to do with walking with Spirit?

Note: This is a very simple (and short) lesson and that, although gender roles and gender identity are two very different conversations - and therefore deserving of more time and focus, I have intentionally conflated them to refocus the subject to the importance of our personal agency. Whether it is how we enact gender roles and/or embrace our gender identity the Inner Voice of Spirit will always move us toward authenticity.
